Fourteen Florida-based nonprofit organizations serving the HIV/AIDS community are getting an end-of-the-year gift from The Campbell Foundation. The Fort Lauderdale-based organization, which funds HIV/AIDS research around the globe, has awarded $3,000 in grants for the nonprofits to use as they see fit.

Following the devastating back-to-back hurricanes that directly impacted both Florida and North Carolina, the Trustee and Board of Directors of The Campbell Foundation have approved two “Emergency Relief Grants” for $5,000 each.

The Campbell Foundation is pleased to announce that it is providing an $80,000 grant to Fatah Kashanchi, Ph.D., of George Mason University in Virginia who is researching how to identify HIV reservoir cells using HIV glycoRNA as a marker.

HIV testing, treatment and prevention: All three types of research in the fight against AIDS are taking place in our own backyard. To support that work, The Campbell Foundation has awarded three $25,000 grants to scientists at the University of Miami, Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University, who are focused on these critical research areas.
