Campbell Foundation Provides Emergency Relief Grants Following Back-to-Back Hurricanes
October 16, 2024
Following the devastating back-to-back hurricanes that directly impacted both Florida and North Carolina, the Trustee and Board of Directors of The Campbell Foundation have approved two “Emergency Relief Grants” for $5,000 each.
The first grant was awarded to The McGregor Clinic located in Fort Myers, FL. This nonprofit community service organization provides complete wrap-around services for people living with HIV/AIDS and is providing critical services at this time. More info about our long-time partners at The McGregor Clinic can be found here: https://www.mcgregorclinic.org/
The second grant was awarded to Loving Food Resources located in Asheville, NC. This organization identifies potential clients in outlying counties of Western North Carolina who have not previously received services. Partnerships with Western North Carolina AIDS Project (WNCAP), Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS), Care Partners Hospice, Four Seasons Hospice, and personal physicians are helping LFR reach more clients in the 18 counties of Western North Carolina. More info can be found here. https://www.lovingfood.org/
While a majority of Campbell Foundation funding is focused on laboratory-based clinical research into HIV/AIDS, we realize and appreciate the need for direct services to the community. These Emergency Relief Grants were fast-tracked and awarded as soon as communication was established with both organizations. Thank you to the staff and teams that are helping to keep their communities healthy – both physically and mentally – during such challenging times.
